Running Programs

Our women-specific program incorporates yoga for runners and strength training to compliment speed, technique and endurance training and avoid injuries common to the female anatomy. Our trainees benefit from the unique social interaction, support and motivation that our women-only group provides. Our running programs are open to women of all abilities and experience. Women in the program are coached according to their own ability and personal goals. Whether your goal is to finish your first 5K or set a new Marathon PR, our goal is to get you across the finish line injury-free and with a smile on your face.

Tough Cookie Spring 2009 Running Programs

Spring Running  - (Starts February 18 - April 4th)
Get in shape this spring with our beginner friendly running program. Train for your
first 5K, 10K or the Zooma Women's Half Marathon (must be able to run 6 miles).  This program is an excellent base builder for our spring triathlon training!  There is no minimum fitness level and walkers are welcome! Registration Fee: $150 ($125 for returning tough cookies)

Meeting Dates and Locations

Choose from:

v    Wednesday 9:30-11am Zilker Park/Saturday 7am Town Lake*

v     Wednesday 6-7:30pm Anderson High Track/Saturday 7am Town Lake*

All groups meet on Saturday 7am at Town Lake and other locations throughout Austin

Tough Cookie Fall 2009 Running Programs

Austin Marathon Training - (Starts September 9, 2009 )
This 24-week training program prepares you to run the Austin Marathon. Our goal is to get you across the finish line injury-free and with a smile on your face whether your goal is to just finish or to break 4:00hrs. To join this group you should be able to comfortably run 6 miles (at any speed). Registration Fee: $325 ($300 for returning tough cookies)

Half Marathon Training - (Starts September 9, may join later in the season)
This 24-week training program prepares you to run the
Austin Half Marathon or the 3M Half Marathon in its entirety or as part of a two-person relay team with each person running approx. 10K. To join this group you should be able to comfortably run/walk 3 miles (at any speed). Registration Fee: $325 ($300 for returning tough cookies)
